The Air Relax is a compression machine that helps your legs with recovery after your runs. I’ve been using it for the past months now and waited with this review to be able to give it a good test after using it for a good amount of time.
The Air relax is a compression machine with two sleeves for your legs, you zip them up to fit snug around your legs. The legs have 4 compartments that with the compressor fill up with air and tighten up around your leg. The compartments fill up separately and you can change the order in which they do, with different modes. The compressor has 4 different settings that you can use and the higher the setting, the tighter the sleeves get. The compression of the sleeves stimulate the blood flow and helps your muscles with recovery.
The sleeves are very easy to put on and the whole set up is really simple. Operating the compressor is also made very easy with only a couple of buttons you can change all the settings.
When I first started using it I had it on the first level, which seemed pretty tight already, but now that I’m used to it I mostly have it on level two. For me that gets pretty tight and it gets the job done.
Now all the machine essentially does is fill up with air and deflate again to fill up another compartment and switch within these 4 compartments. Sounds simple enough, but it is a fairly expensive machine, depending on where you live, in the United States it’s quite a bit cheaper than in Europe, but still it’s a pretty big investment for a compressor that fills something with air over and over again.
That being said this Air Relax is money. I absolutely love using this machine. From the first time I used it I could notice a difference right away. There is less fatigue in my legs and I believe I can recover from my runs much faster by using this. And faster recovery means more time to train. So with a short period of time to train for something this could really come in handy.
The last couple of months I’ve been using the Air Relax after all my runs, the short runs and the half marathons and I can say that for a fact I know this works, my legs feel great afterwards and seeing that most times after I run a half marathon I still have a full workday ahead of me it’s great to not have tired legs after my run. Also the whole process is just very relaxing, you lay there and the machine does the work so you can wind down after your run. And to be honest I even used it a couple of times without going for a run, I slipped them on just before going to bed and just fully relax, this thing is amazing and I can’t recommend it enough.
If you want to check out the Air Relax here is a Link, like I said there is a different site for the US then for Europe and the prices are very different because of taxes, manufacturing of different electric current and shipping costs. But I think for me it was money well spent, I love it.
